Arts & Galleries

Breckenridge has a surprisingly rich arts scene — multiple galleries feature Colorado and Western American art, sculpture, and photography. The Breckenridge Arts District hosts festivals and events year-round.

Hiking & Backcountry

Summer transforms the ski mountain into a hiking paradise

The same terrain that makes Breckenridge a ski destination makes it spectacular for summer hiking — you can ride the chairlift partway up and hike from there, or attack the trails from base level. Wildflowers blanket the bowls in July and August.

The Quandary Peak 14er (14,265 ft) is accessible day-hike from Breckenridge — a moderate climb rewarded with views of Summit County's peaks and lakes. One of Colorado's most popular 14ers for good reason.

For alpine lakes, Mohawk Lakes and Crystal Lake are stunning multi-hour hikes above treeline with brilliant blue water set against granite peaks.
